Morehouse Grads Aim to Make Golf More Accessible for Minorities with Edgy Brand "Eastside Golf"

Eastside Golf Founders sit down with CBS Mornings' Jericka Duncan to discuss how the brand is attracting a more diverse crowd to the sport.

Founders of the Eastside Golf brand bring culture to the golf course with a mission to transform the sport’s traditional style and reach new golfers; shaking up the golf space with their efforts to make the game “more accessible,” to diverse groups of people through community outreach and groundbreaking fashion.

Morehouse College Alum Olajuwon Ajanaku and Earl Cooper are teaching the black history of golf through Eastside Golf’s apparel; with garments brandishing important dates to remember like in 1952 when the PGA first voted to allow Black golfers to compete in PGA co-sponsored events; and in 1990 when the ban on African American’s joining the Augusta National Golf Club was lifted. Each style adheres to the standard look on course, but with edgy flair.

The pro-golfers, now entrepreneurs host a series of outreach events introducing the game to beginners and people from diverse walks of life. Their Eastside Golf “Community Day,” is a free skills training program which was recently held in Augusta, Ga.
